The Objective: 30 second animation to compliment the ‘Families’ Airbnb campaign with a social video for a Twitter campaign to be launched leading up to Valentine’s Day, giving it a cheeky twist to appeal to the inner child
The Challenge: Confined to a 4 week schedule, develop, animate, and deliver a a visually appealing style that exudes playfulness and childlike charm, capturing the interest of both children and adults. The animation should embody the essence of a child's drawing, presenting a simplicity and joyfulness that includes smooth and seamless transitions between frames.
The Solution: We stayed true to the crafted look of a child’s drawing by drawing the frames all by hand, but in a digital application that can quickly output the animation into the compositing software. I prioritized the storyboard stage by deeply collaborating and engaging with the agency to ensure that the details of the sequence were fully approved by Airbnb before starting the final animation. This resulted in immediate approval of the final animation without any edits to safely make the deadline for the launch.
